Even if you choose to arrange every last detail of your weekend there are still questions you will need to ask, such as, ‘can Waitrose Direct deliver on the Friday morning before we arrive’, ‘if we have our wine delivered is there somewhere it can be stored’ as well as any number of other requests personal to your stay at Huntsham Court. We want you to know that we are here to assist you with whatever you need to ensure you have the perfect weekend and we have a house team to answer any and all house related questions. You can also arrange separately for a dedicated House Manager to be at Huntsham Court for all or part of your stay.

with Extra Freelance Event Planning

If you would prefer to have someone to manage the whole picture and liaise with suppliers on your behalf then we suggest you engage one of the highly efficient freelance event planners, such as Clair, Deby, and Petra who are our House / Events Managers at Huntsham Court. You agree a fee direct with them to cover what you want them to do and they can arrange everything for your weekend – from drop and leave catering options, suitable menus, DJs, musicians and magicians as well as being on hand to ensure it all comes together on time in just the right way. They have a wealth of experience and are familiar with the House, the suppliers, staffing requirements (such as what works well and what doesn’t) and can ensure you make the most of your time at Huntsham Court. You can also request that he be there during your stay to ensure everything runs as planned and manage suppliers on your behalf.

Porters & Bar Help

We work with two teams of freelance porters who also turn their hand to helping with the bar as and when needed.

As porters they can be scheduled to move the reception rooms and set up the banqueting furniture at times to suit you. On some events they come in prior to arrival so everything is in place for a large banquet prior to check in. On other events they move things around when the clients is in residence so the client can oversee everything. They always work to your schedule, efficiently and discretely around your guests if needed. They can be scheduled through your Event Manager.

Bride’s Butler / Valets

Huntsham Court has a wonderful network of people who offer a discrete and personal freelance butler service for either the bride, groom or any other important guests. Often the bride’s parents pay for their services to support the bride on her wedding day, or the bride and groom engage a Butler to look after their parents, grandparents or other special guests. They are a jack of all trades and pick up all those loose ends to make the lead guest’s life easier: they can iron, sew on buttons, polish shoes, fix hems, run errands, move luggage, unpack or pack, watch over younger kids – pretty much anything – even sort out snacks and drinks in the any of the bedroom suites for privacy (great for fizz and sandwiches whilst the bride is getting dressed). For more information just ask your dedicated event manager for more information. Once you’ve got your butler you’ll wonder how you could have survived without such a stealth secret helper.

We have an extensive list of local suppliers which is on our Suppliers page of the website and do please talk to them about how they can help. If you choose to work with an outside caterer they sometimes provide their own waiting staff as well as additional linens, crockery and glassware.

House Helpers

We also have a wonderful network of reliable people with a helping hand to make your event exactly how you want it and cover anything not covered by you or your caterers. Often the smallest of touches that don’t cost the earth make a massive difference to your guests’ experience. Let us know if you would like anything in particular and we can schedule helpers for you. These can include:

  • Housekeepers – for fluffing cushions and cleaning up the morning after, or offering a morning making beds and/or evening turn down service.
  • Waiters – to help keep people’s glasses full, serve tea and collect and clean used glasses and crockery.
  • Event Porters / Butlers – an overall helper to turn their hand to almost anything, including keeping the fires lit, receiving deliveries, moving luggage and running errands.
  • Kitchen helpers – who wants to wash the dishes on a weekend away?
  • Cooks – to assist with or fully prepare your own food, from snacks, tea or breakfasts to formal dinners.
  • Bar staff – to run your bar and/or make cocktails.
  • Master of Ceremonies – to keep the most formal of events on track.
