Take an escape from the worry & noise and make a new memory.

Take a very special break in a country house like no other, which is normally never open to the public, other than for exclusive use hire. For just a few months, you can make Huntsham Court your home from home and book a romantic escape. During your stay enjoy Milkshed Kitchen’s delicious breakfasts & diners in one of two of our grand state dining rooms. Not to mention the sun lit reception rooms and roaring log fires.. Historic yet cosy, the property is a country house home rom home with the relaxed grandeur and friendly ethos that will transform a break into an unforgettable romantic escape.

Please note: The grounds, property & bar are exclusively open only to overnight guests and diners with advance reservations only. This means the property is calm and always relaxing. Bookings must be made and confirmed online at least 48 hrs prior to arrival. We are unable to accept walk-ins or visitors without reservations.

Should you wish to leave the comfort of your bedroom or suite, our reception rooms have been transformed into spacious lounges where you can enjoy a drink by a roaring open fire with panoramic views across the rolling Devon countryside. Huntsham Court is a perfect country house bolthole in the heart of Devon – a hidden and calm world of its own. Find the space and make the time to unwind in our un-stuffy yet luxury surroundings.

Space & Comfort

We have several lounges each with their own character: The Great Hall with its roaring fire and oak panelling; the light filled Yellow Drawing Room with garden views; the Snug Bar hung with art - so many spaces to relax and chill.

2 Unique Dining Rooms

The dining room is the stage for sharing wonderful food with close friends and family. What better stage is there than dining in our opulent candlelit Library or Tapestry hung Diamond Room. Generous tables, comfy chairs and no crowds.

Drinks to Delight

The bar operates a table service to any of ground floor reception and dining rooms. From our boutique selection of gins, vodkas and whiskeys to our special selection or rarely available wines from smaller vineyards across the globe.

Our guest chefs are renowned for creating very special meals with love and attention to detail. All served in the relaxed and very special environment of our two spacious dining rooms. No rush. Just a romantic dinner for two with plenty of time together and some quality food. Not to mention our cocktail lounges and wine list!

Whilst you may not want to leave your suite, there is so much near us to explore: Why not visit some historic villages and grab a pint or light lunch. Alternatively, watch the clouds roll across the broad beaches in Exmouth or even take a relaxing walk across the rugged moors through the gorse with the wild ponies. Whatever you end up doing during the day, best rest assured that the Great Hall fire is always lit with a warm welcome when you return. Plus, our comfy sofas are the perfect spot to put your feet up and enjoy a cuppa or a cocktail. Even better, if you have been busy all day, why not order a bottle of champagne to take to your room and enjoy a long hot soak as you watch the sun go down from the privacy of your room.

Rugged Moorland walks

Within a short drive from the house you can explore Wimbleball Lake and the surrounding moorlands or go up to Exmoor ad explore the heather and gorselands - you may even spot a wild pony or two.

Sea & Surf

We are just 30 mins from both the North coast surf beaches of Putsborough and Saunton Sands or the South coast estuary beaches of Exmouth and Dawlish. Not to mention the lakes inbetween!

Charming villages with a buzz

We are surrounded by cute villages hiding a treasure trove of goodies - from antique meccas like Honiton to market towns such as Bampton and Dulverton - any with hidden foodie gems!

A stunning private stately home. The house has a decadent gothic exterior with impeccably decorated interiors.
The house and its decor is amazing – the only thing that could have been better for our three night stay would have been another three nights!
