MARK & KATIE THE MAGIC MAKERS
The winning family affair that makes Milkshed Kitchen
For Huntsham Court’s Pop-Up Hotel we are delighted that the fabulous and acclaimed team at Milkshed are opening their pop-up Milkshed Kitchen creating and serving dinner and breakfast daily from October 2020 until February 2021.
The team know Huntsham very well and have a wealth of experience in creating mouth-watering dishes. Over the past few months Milkshed Kitchen have been busy creating new and exciting dishes which they can’t wait to share with dinner guests for these very special two night stay packages. They are planning different menus each night and a Devon breakfast that’s hard to beat!
The kitchen is headed up by Head Chef/Owner Mark, whose 30 years’ experience includes working in top restaurants including Gordon Ramsey at Claridges, Michelin recommended Domaine Gayda in the French Languedoc and the Royal Academy of Arts in London. He has previously worked in France, Spain, Australia and Switzerland and has cooked for many top-end clients, including royalty. He is classically trained but enjoys putting modern twists on dishes and experimenting with new flavours. On his odd day off Mark enjoys playing cricket or basketball with the kids and keeping the garden looking lovely (apparently mowing relaxes him!).
Mark is joined in the kitchen by Mark (2!) – both chefs are excited about the pop-up – they have plans to combine favourite dishes with new ideas, using the very best locally sourced seasonal produce Devon has to offer.
The service team is run by owner, Katie – the face of Milkshed and a stickler for detail. Katie has previously headed up the Events team at Lord’s Cricket Ground, organised member events for the Royal Automobile Club and was maitre’d at a fine dining vineyard restaurant in the Languedoc, France. She usually loves working with couples planning their wedding catering and coordinating their day but is looking forward to the pop-up and a chance to enjoy a busy restaurant service again.
Katie will be supported by Kirstin and a small team of waiting staff, who are all looking forward to welcoming Huntsham residents into the dining areas.
