Couples or clients who are planning an event at Huntsham Court often find that closer to the event date, they have filled all 42 bedrooms at the venue and just need a few extra bedrooms in the nearby vicinity. It may even be from the get-go, more than 42 bedrooms will be required for the big day. We can happily help you organise the 5 bedrooms at The Ginger Peanut in addition to the rooms at Huntsham Court.
We appreciate there will be times when couples or clients need to stop by the venue for planning meetings, be in the area for a tasting with your chosen caterer, or visit for a hair or makeup trial. With many couples opting to work with local suppliers (check out our Recommended suppliers list for inspiration) it makes perfect sense to make use of The Ginger Peanut as a base while connecting with suppliers and planners, as well as taking the time to revisit the venue itself.
There is no doubt that many of our clients travel long distances to host their event at Huntsham Court, so staying at The Ginger Peanut means beating the traffic or avoiding any delays. Having a base near venue certainly helps alleviate some of the travel stress, especially for the day of arrival.
The Ginger Peanut can also be a helpful base after the event. Nestled in the heart of a pretty and historic town, Bampton is just a short 10minute drive from Huntsham. The Ginger Peanut is a beautiful Grade II listed building, offering 5 ensuite bedrooms, a shared living space, kitchen and dining toom.
The cosy comfort and charm is the perfect blend of Huntsham Court grandeur and classic country-living.
The charming town has plenty to offer too, including excellent cafes and restaurants, small but well stocked local stores, galleries and general shops.
The Ginger Peanut is also well located for those who want to set off and explore. Situated on the doorstep of Exmoor, there are plenty of walks to enjoy, National Trust locations to discover as well as nearby towns, cities and coastal destinations.
What are the bedroom and hire options?
Named after animals and birds you might encounter in the UK (or even Devon), you have the option to pick from Grouse, Quail, Duck, Hare and Rabbit bedroom.
All are ensuite, with different layout options, as well as having their own unique style.
You also have different hire choices to suit your party size.
Take the whole private town house for a self-catered break
Known as the Townhouse Takeover, this gives you the full run of the house!
This option is available when hiring 1 – 5 ensuite bedrooms (sleeping 2 – 10 guests) with exclusive access to the lounge, dining room and kitchen.
Book individual ensuite bedrooms for a self-catered break
Pick from the 5 bedrooms for your stay and enjoy access to the shared lounge, dining room and kitchen.
This is a great option when letting your guests know about local accommodation, allowing them to pick and book a single room at The Ginger Peanut.
Is the Ginger Peanut self-catered?
Yes! You’ll find the Townhouse is well equipped too.
The shared kitchen space has all the amenities you would expect, along with complimentary tea, coffee and even some snacks.
If you plan to arrive late, or need a little bit of help settling in, Corks and Cru (Wine and Deli store next door) are very happy to help organise a Welcome Hamper with drinks, cured meats an local treats.
A few steps away from the front door, you will find a handy village Co-op, perfect for stocking up on any necessities.
A short walk around the corner, you will discover Bampton Fresh, a fabulous local fruit and veg store which also stocks eggs, meats, cakes and more.
There are plenty of restaurants, cafes and pubs in the area, so you’ll have plenty of options if you fancy a night off from cooking!
