As a part of our Supplier Spotlight, this month we are catching up with Posh Nosh.
Catering has to be one of the top priorities for any event. Food plays such a huge part in celebrations like a wedding day, highlighting the couples style and quite literally their taste! Food is also a highlight for so many of the attendees, after all, who doesn’t look forward to those reception canapés with eager anticipation?
Posh Nosh have catered for numerous events here at Huntsham Court over the years and here they share some of their signature dishes, venue highlights and top tips for future couples.
Tell us a bit about Posh nosh and your catering style?
Posh Nosh is a family run, high-end catering business that has evolved and flourished over the last 30 years. We pride ourselves on being one of the South West’s most premier catering companies, providing top level cuisine, presentation, and service for our clients.
We love to work closely with our couples to create the perfect menu and style of dining to fit their special day, and as a result have an extensive brochure of dishes and menu styles for them to choose from. However, we are also always keen to think and work outside of the box and get super excited when a couple want to try something completely unique to what we’ve done before!
We keep up to date with present/future food trends are always pushing ourselves to create new and exciting twists on traditional dishes to keep things fresh.
Our aim is to ‘wow’ our clients and their guests on the most important day of their lives, and make both the build up to and the day of the wedding a smooth and enjoyable experience.

What’s your favourite season and why?
Summer! It’s our busiest time of year and a lot of our favourite seasonal produce is in abundance.
The sun is shining which makes everyone happy, guests can enjoy their drinks and canapes outside which makes for wonderful photos, and the evenings just seem to last so much longer – meaning the party does too.

Do you have a signature dish?
Our signature dish is either the chicken wrapped in Parma ham with chorizo, or the slow roast sirloin. Both are classic yet hearty dishes with a modern, ‘Posh Nosh’ twist and can be enjoyed all year round. Both are also big crowd pleasers!
What are your favourite canapes and why?
Local Sausages with Honey, Cider & Mustard (everyone loves them and often guests will hunt staff down to get one – even the kids)
Smoked Mackerel Pate on Potato & Celeriac Rosti with Gooseberry Chutney (full of flavour and works for every season)
Chargrilled Courgette Cup with Herby Goats Cheese and Tomato Jam (it’s fresh, light, zingy, GF and can be made DF/Vegan)
Carpaccio of Beef Fillet with a Pink Peppercorn Cream Cheese and Crispy Onions (refined but hearty with a great combination of textures and colour)
What do you love about catering at Huntsham Court?
We love the beauty of the venue and the endless possibilities it provides for its couples… the various rooms and areas for the ceremony, to dine in, to party in and of course the vast amount of accommodation on site, meaning everyone feels like they are on an exclusive, special retreat!
The fusion of old-world decor and colourful, unique accents makes Huntsham Court a stunning, one-of-a-kind venue.
We also love that it’s a suitable wedding venue for any time of the year. In the summer you have the beautiful patio and lawns for photos where you can enjoy your drinks and canapés, whereas in the winter the roaring fireplaces and cosy furniture will keep you and your guests feeling toastie.
Do you have a favourite spot in or outside the venue?
Either the Bar as it gives off that historic, private club vibe, or the Great Hall as it’s such an amazing reception room when you first enter the building, plus it can can be used for the ceremony/dancing/chilling.
Do you have any words of wisdom for couples when it comes to menu choices and wedding day food?
We recommend guests opt for plated menus without too much choice in order for quick and efficient service.
A top tip is that couples note their guests’ menu choices/special dietaries on the back of name cards to ensure everything runs smoothly on the day.
Couples are welcome/encouraged to interchange styles of dining for each course to keep the meal interesting- e.g. plated starters, Butcher’s Block main and plated trio of dessert.
We also remind couples to remember the day is theirs, so their food choices should reflect them and their favourite flavours. It’s important to keep guests happy, but ultimately the couple need to adore the food they eat on their wedding day.
