Flowers

Sophie from Earth Gallery Flowers has passed on her flower display knowledge and wisdom when it comes to decorating Huntsham Court for a wedding or occasion:

Having had the privilege of decorating Huntsham Court since 2002 when we set up Earth Gallery Flowers in Devon we have seen many trends pass through this amazing place. From opulent and traditional with a respectful nod to the grandeur romantic past of Huntsham court to the bohemian, festival vibe which gives the opportunity to make use of the amazing grounds for you and your guests to explore.

The stunning complimentary candelabras are just perfect for winter and autumn weddings or grand banquet style dinner parties, allowing you to make a bold statement with flowers to impress any of your guests and make lasting memories! There is nothing like twinkling ambient candlelight and roaring fires with rich, jewel-like blooms of roses, Ranunculus & Anemones tumbling out of opulent gold urns to set the party and celebration scene.

Inside

Making use of the Yellow Room and Library for the wedding breakfast during the Spring and Summer months means you can go all out with a crisp, clean look using glass containers filled with an abundant of blooms on offer such as Hydrangeas, Peonies, blousy Roses, classic grand Delphiniums and wistful flowing summer foliage. Equally, simple structured arrangements with a less-is-more approach using just one or two types of blooms can go along way to wow your guests.

With the interiors of Huntsham Court being of nostalgic grandeur charm, yet without the traditional stuffiness you may feel in other stately homes, you really can make it what you wish!

Outside

Outside ceremonies at the Dovecote can take place as early as March and as late as October, especially judging by the last few years weather! Adorning its rafters with Hydrangeas, Dhalias and lush green foliages makes a fantastic, flower, focal point to say your vows. Another perfect back drop for the big day is the stone bench on the north lawn. We had planned to decorate this for a lovely bride back in June last year but are now looking forward to installing some floral delights on and around this for their deferred wedding in April 2022.

The Church

The local All Saints Church is just a 2min walk from the house and it is such a pretty, intimate space. A simple Urn or vase on a plinth at the altar that can easily be moved back to the house for use in the entrance hall or main reception areas, this is a great way to make full use of your flowers.

In the Summer there are some beautiful pink roses that grow wild over the arch of the entrance to the church but if you want to make a bigger statement or you are marrying in other seasons then a full or half arch is a great way to welcome your congregation and frame you for family photos.

The Great Hall

If you choose to marry in the colder months then this really is when the house comes in to its own as the Great Hall is a truly magnificent space to tie the knot in and is the perfect contingency without disappointment should the weather turn nasty if you had planned an outside ceremony. Even without a fire roaring, then decorating the pillars and mantle with hanging tealights, storm lamps peaking out of pretty blooms and trailing foliage is just the trick to create a truly magical and special space.

We love decorating Huntsham Court not only because of what we can achieve for our clients vision but also because of the clientele it attracts. We get to work with interesting, fun, cultured people who simply want to have the best time!
