Most importantly, with a 2 day wedding stay you do not run out of time. Nothing is rushed. Above all, every moment is special and your closest can be with you for the whole journey. Firstly, from arrival excitement and the pre-wedding evening. Then, the big day and the evening party. Lastly, there’s sharing the memories over breakfast together the day after. Why squeeze in to a few hours what you can celebrate over a 2 day wedding celebration.
Simply put, check in at your leisure and start your 2 day wedding. Why not meet and greet friends and family as they arrive. Then, explore the house and share a glass of wine as they unpack and make themselves at home.
Have a casual supper with one of our artisan chefs or a festival style pop-up at the front door. Most importantly, catch up with long-time friends you’ve not seen for ages. For example, relax in the bar, trying a few tipples with the log fires burning.
First, pop down in your PJs to start the day in country house style. Choose from a light continental breakfast to a full Devon brunch created by a local chef and served in our Butlers Pantry. Then, back to bed and a long bath to get ready for the big moment.
As a result of a hearty breakfast no-one needs lunch. Wedding party giggle together as you do hair, makeup and get suited and booted. Then, whilst your guests gather together downstairs whilst you enjoy the luxury of a quiet moment with your closest.
You’ve spend the first half of your 2 day wedding catching up. Now, everyone is situ, the room goes quiet and you make the final walk down our grand oak staircase. Then, you process along the aisle to meet your partner in front of everyone you love.
Hand in hand you both enjoy a champagne drinks reception on our terraces served by your caterers, with family relaxed and chatting – there’s no rush to talk to everyone as you have plenty of time so you can wander and mingle as you sip and celebrate in the sunshine.
As guests enjoy the gardens and house, you can grab that rare and precious moment together amidst the excitement that a one day wedding just wouldn’t enable.
Dinner is announced and all your guests process into a ballroom, transformed with tables decorated with flowers and named after auspicious moments in your life. Then speeches, cake and the party.
Secretly during the meal, the Great Hall has been transformed with lighting. Amazingly, it has become the hub of the house for dancing, drinking and celebrating into the early hours with a live band or DJ. Don’t forget those late night snacks and smores served over open fires on the terrace.
Above all, it’s not over yet as it’s your 2 day wedding! It’s been a big night, but you’re still together under one roof so you can pop in to see friends over a cuppa. Come down for breakfast and a giggle over the late night dancing, and share those last moments together in the garden.
A wedding day is short, quick and rushed. A wedding weekend is a journey together with your closest – marking the moment but having the time to truly catch up and touch base. Your priceless and timeless 2 day wedding.
